21 Floral Wedding Cakes We Love

Floral wedding cakes have to be our favorite. Not only are they perfect for spring and summer weddings (and even fall…hello, sunflowers!) but they can be surprisingly affordable. Of course not some of the intricately designed sugar flowers you’ll see in this post, but adding REAL flowers to a simple white Publix wedding cake can seriously up the ante for very little!

First, when it comes to choosing a floral wedding cake, think about your wedding color palette and your centerpieces, as this can be a great way to tie in both. Be sure to coordinate with both your florist and/or your baker to talk about how you can incorporate your wedding flowers with your cake.

You’ll also want to make sure that any flowers served with the cake (rather than on top) are edible. Edible flowers we love include lavender and hibiscus. Of course if you’re only using the flowers decoratively, you don’t have to worry about whether they’re edible.

Different types of flowers can also reflect the season you’re getting married in. For instance lilacs are blooming in the spring, while peonies scream (early) summer.

Another consideration is the type of floral design you’d like. If using real flowers, consider whether you like the cascading look, a floral garland or wreath, a single bloom focus, or even a scattering of smaller wildflowers all over the cake. (Again, as long as they’re edible!)

We’ve curated our favorite floral wedding cakes, below! Hopefully they’ll serve as some fun inspiration to show your florist or baker!
