How can you make mini apple pies with toddlers?

Make apple pies in a muffin tin! They’re so simple to make. The way we make these involves virtually no prep either, which makes them a perfect activity.

Apple pies are such a delicious Fall treat but sometimes I don’t want to make a whole pie. Mini apple pies are just the right size! They’re fun to make with toddlers, preschoolers, and older and they bake quickly!

Recipe for Mini Apple Pies

Instructions for Making Mini Apple Pies

1. Grease the muffin tins.

2. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F (232 degrees C)

3. Give each child a small handful of pie dough

4. Have kids roll out their pie dough to make it flat.

5. Place a cup onto the flat dough and press cup to cut the dough into a circle.

6. While the cup is pressed on the dough, have kids pull the remaining dough away from the circle.

7. Place the remaining dough to the side.

8. Have each child press their circle of dough into one greased muffin tin.

9. Have each child use a spoon to scoop one or two spoonfuls of apple pie filling into the muffin tin, on top of their pie dough.

10. Have the child roll out their remaining pie dough.

11. Encourage kids to use a kid safe knife to cut their dough into little tip strips or pieces.

12. Place the strips on top of their muffin tin to make their “lattice.”

13. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until light brown.

14. Let cool and eat! Yum!
