A Black And White Wedding Filled With Style

We’ll never not love a simple black and white wedding colour palette. It’s a go-to that stands the test of time whether we’re talking about fashion or wedding design. And today’s marvelous monochrome wedding is total proof. From the ceremony to the reception, it’s classic elegance that proves black and white is here to stay.

We could go on and on and on about Limerick couple Laura and Anthony‘s ‘I do’s. When the bride is in the wedding biz is it any wonder their summer wedding gave us goosebumps? A chic colour palette, a reimagined ballgown, champagne and bows – there were plenty of dreamy details all wrapped up in their classy and elegant old Hollywood glamour-inspired aesthetic. There to catch the memories was content creator and photographer Shannon Tynan Designs, and we can’t wait for you to see all the glorious snaps below…

First things first, let’s get to know our couple a little better. Newlyweds Laura and Anthony both hail from Limerick, but are currently based in Chester, England. The pair first met on a night out in Limerick at Angel Lane nightclub where they hit it off.

Fast forward a few years and the proposal happened while the couple were visiting home. The bride telling, “It was perfect. We were home in Ireland at the time and Anthony arranged a “spontaneous” night to Killarney.”

Once engaged, the couple began planning with two priorities in mind, “Minimal and classy styling, and music from start to finish with everyone on the dance floor!”.

The brides day began at at her childhood home. She enjoyed a busy morning getting ready with her bridesmaids and mum by her side, before heading to their ceremony in the village of Crecora, in Co. Limerick.

Laura wore the Monte gown by Chosen By Kyha. A reimagined, modern, ballgown with a full skirt of luminous Mikado with a distinctive front split and strapless and structured bodice with drape detail which she sourced at Isabella’s Closet in Liverpool.

She completed her wedding day look with accessories from The Next Chapter Bridal Occasion, Ashley Wild Bridal, jewellery from One Dame Lane and satin embellished heels from ASOS brand Be Mine.

Anthony looked equally dapper in and black tie look with white tuxedo jacket from Charles Tyrwhitt while the groomsmen wore tuxes from Moss.

The couple’s adorable little boy Paddy stole the show in a matching mini tux.

The couple made their newlywed exit to Dreams by The Cranberries which Laura recalls as her favourite piece of music from the day.

The bridesmaids matched the monochrome palette perfectly in the Julia and Amelia white bridesmaids dresses from Pretty Lavish.

After the I do’s, the couple joined their 170 guests for an elegant reception at Trump International Doonbeg.

The vibe, service and the location were what ticked the boxes for them to make it their dream venue.

Laura and Anthony chose to have a classic black and white themed wedding reception. Their elegant florals and decor featured all white florals by Emma Rose Floristry with chic candle accents and details from Signature Rentals.

Cakes Becca Bakes provided a sweet, one-tier white Lambeth wedding cake with black bow accents which we’re told was as tasty as it was beautiful!

After the speeches, the reception moved into the light-filled Pavilion, where the The Event Band kicked off the party.

For their first dance, the couple took to the floor to an acoustic version of Stand By Me.

Looking back on their day, the couple describe the look of the day and the overall vibe as, “Classic monochrome styling, and romantic yet fun.”

The bride adds, “The reception was sooo much fun! We and all our guests danced all night long! Would love to do it all over again!”

After planning such a chic celebration, Laura and Anthony have the following advice for couples, “Brides, enjoy your morning prep BUT schedule your bridal party ready 2 hours before you need to leave for the ceremony…that will end up being way less time and hair and makeup ALWAYS run over. You want some time to relax and gets photos etc. I literally threw my dress on 15 mins before I was due to walk down the aisle. Time ran away in the end!”

The bride adds, “Tell your guests to ask your photographer to take their photo. Make time for each other, and lastly, definitely get a videographer! The day goes too fast and this is the best way to relive it!”.

Enjoying newlywed life, the couple are currently planning a honeymoon to Italy next summer.
