Fairytale Wedding With Breathtaking Views of the Amalfi Coast at Villa La Rondinaia

We wanted a very colorful wedding to complement the vibrance of the Amalfi Coast. We used pink, blue, yellow, green, and orange throughout the décor and invites. I highlighted yellow as much as possible to complement the local lemons.

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]I wanted the wedding to be traditional and classic, but I also wanted to put my own spin on things. My goal was to create an unforgettable experience for both me and my guests. Ravello provided the most intimate yet exciting backdrop for our wedding weekend.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Logan popped the question at the Sinclair Hotel in Fort Worth, Texas. He proposed on the rooftop and had our favorite vintage blue Bronco waiting for us to drive off in! I was completely fooled until about an hour beforehand. He even had 40 of our closest friends waiting for us down the street.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]The inspiration for my look was Kate Middleton. I had always admired Monique Lhuillier’s lace and knew I would choose one of her designs. My sister, who got married a few months before me, also chose Monique. Our bridal stylist told us that Monique ‘knows a woman’s body the best.’ I customized the Fleur De Lis gown by raising the waist and adding a jacket. I truly had to trust the process because the gown was ready only about a week before we left for Italy. Plus, fitting my gown into a carry-on was a challenge! Whew![/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]I let my Maids of Honor choose their own dresses based on my color palette. It ended up being the perfect blend of colors and patterns.[/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]The food was incredible! The villa paid very close attention to every detail of the menu. As guests arrived, the mixologist served a glass of prosecco, to which he added a dried rosebud and sprayed each glass with the scent of roses. For dinner, we enjoyed various courses, each served with its own unique wine pairing. My personal favorite was the Eggplant Parmesan, but the guests loved the Neapolitan Bolognese. I have never had such amazing food all at once![/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]I told the florist that I wanted it to feel like walking through a colorful garden, and they did just that! They truly brought my vision to life using roses, hydrangeas, lilies, dahlias, lisianthus, stock, chrysanthemums, and many other flowers! We used lemons as place cards and customized the napkins with our monogram. We added blue ceramic vases and multicolor candles throughout the table. [/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The cake was a traditional Italian mille-feuille, and it was lovely! It was filled with cream and topped with mixed berries. I can’t believe we don’t have them in the US![/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]We were fortunate enough to convince my childhood pastor to travel to Italy with us. This pastor has known me closely since I was a child and has been a significant part of my faith journey. The ceremony was very intimate. My favorite aspect was when the pastor asked all of our guests to stand and vow to encourage us in our marriage and always point us toward God. It was a very moving moment.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]We had an incredible surprise on our wedding day. Unbeknownst to us, our wedding coincided with a local holiday. Near the end of the night, we were treated to a spectacular firework show, which seemed perfectly positioned just for us![/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Our dogs were featured on our invitations! The artists at ShhhMyDarling did a wonderful job of depicting our dogs perfectly[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]My husband took charge of all the music selections. After all my hard work in the wedding planning process, the music ended up being what we received the most compliments on![/field]
