For the next year or so, he planned for a proposal at the end of his graduation there at that same spot – the Reflecting Pool. He wanted to show her that although DC was his adventure, it was a journey they took together. It was always about advancing a future together. As Collin was solidifying plans for the coming months, Covid swept in. Despite his plans being derailed by the onset of Covid, Collin’s determination to create a meaningful proposal never wavered. Upon their reunion in Houston, Collin discovered a picturesque spot reminiscent of their cherished DC memories – a Reflecting Pool nestled within the Rice area, an homage to their journey together. In this symbolic setting, amidst the echoes of their shared past and the promise of a future intertwined, Collin finally asked Kate to embark on the greatest adventure of all – a lifetime of love

Special attention was given to the planning of décor and floral arrangements, every element was selected to reflect and amplify the warmth of the surroundings. Amanda Taylor with Embellished Weddings helped with the design and selection process to ensure the overall design was romantic, timeless and cohesive from the ceremony to the reception. Delicate touches of gold were intricately woven throughout, echoing the ambient glow and giving the atmosphere a sense of opulence. Meanwhile, the floral palette, in soft hues of creams, beiges, and light pinks, touched with green accents, subtly mirrored the serene beauty of the surrounding landscape, creating a harmonious and charming ambiance. All of the gorgeous floral details were provided by Winston and Winston Flowers.
