New Baby Carrier Accessories for AW24, BabyBjörn

This autumn, BabyBjörn is launching two practical accessories for parents on the go: the Pocket Pouch and the Bib for Baby Carrier.

The Pocket Pouch is compatible with all BabyBjörn Baby Carriers. It easily clips on and off, attaching anywhere on the carrier. The zipper is designed for smooth closure with a single motion, securely positioned to avoid contact with the baby. Available in black and grey mesh, the Pocket Pouch combines convenience with style.

The Bib for Baby Carrier helps reduce the need for frequent washing by absorbing spills and dribbles, keeping the carrier clean and dry. It’s not only practical but also a more sustainable option.

Made from soft, cosy fabric, the bib is gentle on the baby’s skin, efficiently wicks away moisture, and dries quickly. It comes in two versions: one for the Baby Carrier Mini and Move, and another for the Baby Carrier Harmony. Both versions are offered in dark grey and light grey.

KipKin is a small, boutique company, producing handmade quilts and baby play mats. Founded by mother and daughter team, Rachel and Daisy, their designs combine stunning Indian handblock printed cotton with sumptuous velvet, to create incredibly cosy and beautiful, reversible pieces. Each KipKin quilt is a unique heirloom piece to cherish for years to come.

Whether adorning your bed or sofa, the quilts are sheer joy to snuggle into. Not only gorgeous to look at, but super warm too. Perfect for the upcoming colder months!

The ‘Mini’ play mats are wonderfully soft, making an ideal surface for babies to lie on. They come with a matching drawstring bag, making them easy to store away when not in use or even take out and about.

The newly launched collection features king-sized quilts (RRP £145) and play mats (RRP £45) and are available to purchase via the KipKin website now.

Festival of the Girl is back and hosting its 6th festival across the weekend of Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th October at The Business Design Centre in Islington, North London. Festival of The Girl is a ground-breaking event designed especially for girls aged 7-11. The not-for-profit aims to inspire, engage and to break down harmful gender stereotypes for girls and their families.

This year it’s bigger and better than ever, with four sessions to choose from over the weekend, including a lower capacity ‘noises off’ session designed especially for SEND children and their families.

The key aim of the festival is for families and society to start the gender stereotype conversation before they become too ingrained. Their increasingly popular global interactive festivals give primary school-aged girls access to an incredible lineup of female role models, workshops and activities. They are safe environments where girls have fun, try something new, and most importantly; leave with a boost of self-confidence.

Although aimed at girls, everyone is welcome.

IN THE SPOTLIGHT…

September marks Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and Billy’s Battalion is a charity being set up in Billy the Brave’s name to support the UK DIPG research charity, Abbie’s Army.

DIPG, or Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma, is an aggressive and inoperable brain tumour that primarily affects children. Found in the brainstem, it controls many of the body’s vital functions, including breathing, heart rate, and motor control. Unfortunately, DIPG has one of the lowest survival rates of all childhood cancers, with the average prognosis being just 9-12 months after diagnosis. Despite its devastating impact, research funding for DIPG remains critically low, leaving families with limited treatment options and little hope for a cure.

Billy’s Battalion is determined to change that. Named in honour of Billy the Brave, a young warrior who fought courageously against this terrible disease, the charity aims to raise awareness and vital funds to support DIPG research. By partnering with Abbie’s Army, a UK charity dedicated to funding groundbreaking research into DIPG and providing support for affected families, Billy’s Battalion hopes to bring attention to the urgent need for more effective treatments and, ultimately, a cure.
